Baseball has been played interscholastically at GFS for more than 100 years. Last summer we discovered in the archives a full-page celebration of the 1916 team which appeared in The Philadelphia Ledger. We were able to piece the tattered page together and make a wonderful poster celebrating GFS baseball, and from that art work we took an image of W. Wister Wood (class of 1917) and used it on a spectacular T-shirt, also celebrating the tradition of GFS baseball. The baseball team is selling these posters and T-shirts to raise money for their spring training trip to Florida in March and also to fund equipment purchases in the future.
