On Saturday, April 3, a small group of GFS athletes took the track and field. No runs were scored, but we ran well. No goals were scored but we exceeded many of our goals.

The JV Baseball team banged out 12 hits and scored 14 runs for the second straight day in a 14-2 win at Episcopal.

Episcopal Academy avenged last years loss to the Tigers in a hard fought game. Both teams, just back from spring training stints at Cocoa Expo in Florida, played well. The Tigers, in spite of nice outings by pitchers Custer Cook and Aaron Sommer, could not overcome the good pitching and excellent defense of the Churchmen

On Tuesday Tigers Baseball played their inaugural league game of the season and came home with a victory. The game started by Captain Andy Soprano, who pitched 5 strong innings coming off of a leg injury suffered in Florida, was a bit of a see-saw battle.

The arm of master closer Ben Jackal helped the Tigers hold off a last inning push by CHA to earn a victory by the score of 4 - 3.

Varsity Lax won their first game of the season 10-8 against Shipley today.

The varsity lax team was psyched to post a victory in the first league game of the season.

Six players scored for GFS, two of our captains led the way (Dallett Burns had 4 goals and 1 assist, Kate McDonald had 3 goals and 2 assists.)

The Softball team played an exciting game yesterday against Friends Central. GFS dominated the whole time and had, at one point, an eleven run lead.

The JV Baseball team ran into a buzzsaw yesterday as CHA pounded out 15 hits, including 7 for extra bases and topped the previously unbeaten Tigers 19-7.

Practice and pitching make for great softball teams and the lady Tigers had plenty of both on Friday as they defeated archrival Friends Central 6-3.

Friday the Tigers earned their second win in as many days with a convincing 13 – 1 victory over Westtown.

The JV baseball team travelled to Westtown on Friday and resumed their winning ways, beating the hosts 15-3 to go 4-1 on the season.

As our track teams get ready for the Penn Relays I want to wet your appetite with the results from last Saturday when the boys and girls track teams participated in the DISC Relays at A.I. Dupont High School in Delaware.

The JV baseball team stormed back from a 4-0 deficit after two innings at Penn Charter to take a 6-4 lead before ending up in a 6-6 tie, cut short by the need to get back for Science Night.
