GFS Baseball Defeats Westown 15-5
The Tigers clinched first place in the Friends League, and home field advantage throughout the playoffs, with their win over visiting Westtown on May 14. Andy Steiker-Epstein, in his final regular-season game as a senior, threw a complete game scattering 7 hits, striking out 4 while allowing 4 earned runs. Steiker-Epstein helped his cause on the mound by going 2-4 at the plate with 3 runs scored. He also got some help in the way of a 4-4 day by Rasheed Stewart. He belted 2 doubles to go along with 2 singles while knocking in 3 runs.
With the win and securing the #1 seed, the Tigers will host the #4 seed Moorestown Friends on Wednesday, May 16th at Gratwick Field. First pitch is slated for 4:15 p.m.
