The science building is now a prominent structure on Coulter Street. Concrete slabs are currently being poured; these will become the floors inside the new building. The second story slab was poured this week and the slab on grade will be poured next week. The concrete will be wet-cured; a natural curing method that uses fewer chemicals. After this phase, the next major phase of construction will involve finishing the metal framing of the steel structure for windows in the outer rain wall and glazed wall facing Hargroves. Shortly after that, the concrete floors will be "Retroplated" - a finishing process that will give the concrete an elegant appearance and durable finish.
