| Varsity Field Hockey - Head Coach
|
| Germantown Friends School is accepting applications for the position of Head Coach for its Varsity Field Hockey Program. GFS is looking for a skilled leader, mentor and communicator, with proven coaching experience, to help continue to build on a strong tradition of success. Playing experience is preferred, and the candidate must demonstrate the ability to maintain a competitive team, and overall program, while adhering to the values of the school and the league. The Head Coach will also have the responsibility of overseeing the entire field hockey program (grades 6-12), working with other coaches and teams within the program to establish consistent philosophies and teaching methods, and will be expected to assist fellow coaches with coaching development.

| Upper School Science

| Germantown Friends School is seeking an Upper School science teacher to serve as a one-term sabbatical replacement during the spring of 2009. Responsibilities include teaching 3 sections of 9th grade conceptual physics and 1 section of calculus-based physics. Conceptual physics will cover basic mechanics, waves, sound, light, and color; calculus-based physics will cover electric and magnetism, electromagnetic waves, optics and lenses, and an introduction to quantum physics. All physics classes will develop projects for science night. A Bachelor's degree in Physics and teaching experience preferred.
