Polyphony is the literary magazine of Germantown Friends School, featuring poetry, prose, and visual art from the student body. The publication, which comes out in April of every year, has been an integral part of the school's writing life since 1950s. Upper school students in grades 9-12 lead the publication process from start to finish, collecting submissions and fundraising in the first half of the year and editing and designing the final product in the second half. In the last ten years, Polyphony has consistently earned high honors in the National Council of English Teachers Program to Recognize Excellence in Literary Magazines, and in 2005, the publication was named a Columbia Scholastic Press Association Gold Crown Magazine.
