"Tennis is a tense game," explains GFS coach Jessica Smith. "Between sets is pretty much all you get as a coach to try to conjure something different in the match once you're player has lost the first set. Junior Jenna Goldstein lost her first set and came over to me by the fence and looked at me with frustrated eyes. . Sometimes there's tomes you can fill with the advice you'd like to spew between sets to your player but you have to filter that down in seconds and hope something seeps in. Filled with gelignite Jenna stepped back onto the court and continued to win the next game with rocket speed serves that her opponent barely got a racquet on. Jenna jumped beyond herself and won that game with determination. She didn't win that set or that match. As a team we lost, but Jenna was able to show how fierce a tiger can get for that game and went on to win 4 games in that set. We'll be channeling that she-tiger energy into our three matches next week.
