As the City of Philadelphia stays on track to meet its goal of becoming the Greenest City in America by 2015 through its Greenworks initiative, Germantown Friends School leads the way as one of the area’s first high schools to add a sustainable structure to its campus.
Germantown Friends School’s Sustainable Urban Science Center is designed to serve as a scientific teaching tool. A “green” building, this center is as a model in urban sustainable design that will change the way that students, teachers and neighbors look at the world.The benefits of the Sustainable Urban Science Center at Germantown Friends School include savings in cost and energy, and reduce our city’s carbon footprint.
