Two of our student journalists, Sarah Levin '19 and Jonnie Plass '17, have been awarded Gold Circles in the Columbia University Scholastic Press Association's annual journalism competition.
Gold Circles are awarded for individual pieces in various categories for outstanding writing, photography, illustration, and design.
The awards are:
First Place for "General or Humor Commentary"

Third Place for "Photo Story"
Jonnie Plass '17, "Going Out on a High Note," about the departure of Cunningham Piano from Germantown

A total of 11,259 entries were received from students at colleges, universities and middle and secondary schools throughout the United States. From these, judges cited a total of 1,080 winners for either First, Second or Third Place or for Certificates of Merit for those deemed worthy of honorable mention in a category.
