Welcome once again to Germantown Friends School. I hope the years ahead will be filled with both intellectual and personal growth for your child. We pledge to work cooperatively with you to realize these goals.
On this page you will find forms and links to the information included in the New Parents Packet. This page is the easiest and most centralized location for new student information. These materials will be helpful as you make the transition to the GFS community. Many of our school-to-family communications are electronic, so be sure that we have your up-to-date, correct, and active email address!
This page will be updated throughout the late spring and summer with information such as the summer reading book lists, the start of fall sports practices for Upper School and the Health Form that must be filed with our School Nurse by August 1, 2013.
Please note these important links which require your GFS student ID:
1) MBS Direct - our online book seller for the academic texts your child(ren) will need (grades 6-12).
2) MyPaymentPlus - our cafeteria food plan provider. (If you already have an ID for MyPaymentPlus, continue to use that one.)
3) My Backpack - our central database for all family contact information. Soon you will receive an email with instructions for log-in and password setting. Please update with any changes and confirm correctness for the summertime printing of the GFS family directory (also known as The Blue Book). Through My BackPack you will be able to update family information, as well as access a searchable student-parent directory.
Recently you should have received an email with information from our Transportation Department that included forms for suburban or city busing, GFS private bus routes and costs, and GFS shuttle routes. These forms are available on this page under Transportation.
You should also have received an email from FACTS - our tuition payment plan provider, with login information and directions. If you have any questions regarding FACTS, please contact Audrey Pancoe in the GFS Business Office at 267-323-3295, or apancoe@gfsnet.org.
In the beginning of August, check your inbox for the first Parent Press of the 2013-14 school year. This e-newsletter will contain the schedule for the opening days of school, letters from the principals and division-specific information and forms. Your GFS sponsor family should have been in contact with you and your child by mid-August so that you will have a friendly face to connect to on opening day.
If you have any questions, we are here to help. Please call us in Admissions at 215-951-2345, or email us at admissions@gfsnet.org.
We look forward to seeing you in September!
Sincerely,
Laura
