Bring: lax & hockey stick, shin & mouth guard, goggles, water bottle
(sticks and goggles provided if necessary)
$20 / session for both Hockey and Lacrosse
$15 / session for one sport only
$140 for full package of 8 weeks / both sports

Early Morning Basketball for 4th & 5th Grades!
Early Risers is a voluntary sports program that provides opportunities for young athletes to have fun while learning fundamental skills and playing basketball in a cooperative environment.
The program is led by Ashley Webster, Head Varsity Basketball Coach. Ashley began her basketball career as an Early Riser!
Early Risers is for boys and girls in grades 4 and 5. It takes place Tuesday mornings from 7:30-8:00 a.m. in the Scattergood and Field House Gyms. The first session is November 12, 19, 26; December 3 and 10. The second session is February 4, 11, 25; March 4 and 11. The cost is $5 a session (+ $10 for a Early Risers t-shirt). The deadline to register for session 1 is November 11.
These sessions will help girls and boys in grades K-8. We will teach basics to beginners and work with more experienced players to improve technically and tactically. We will specifically address shooting, individual offense and footwork, post play, ball-handling, setting and using screens, defensive footwork, improving basketball fitness and athleticism, and increasing basketball IQ.

Ashley Webster is the GFS Girls Varsity Basketball Head Coach. She came to GFS last year after five years of coaching at local powerhouse Cheltenham High School. In addition to being Head Assistant Coach at Cheltenham, Webster has coached local AAU teams, run spring and summer leagues and worked with the women's basketball program at LaSalle University. She was an All American basketball player at Philadelphia University, coached by Tom Shirley, one of the NCAA's winningest coaches. She was a 1,000 plus point scorer at Philly U, and captain of the squad her senior season.
Shawn Werdt is the new GFS Boys Varsity Basketball Head Coach. He has five years of college-level coaching experience at Philadelphia University, being mentored by the legendary Herb Magee. During his tenure, the Rams earned three NCAA Tournament appearances and reached the NCAA Division II Sweet Sixteen. He was co-director of the Herb Magee Basketball Camps and Clinics, where he specialized in shooting and worked with top international players. He went on to create his own basketball academy, Shawn Werdt Elite Skills. Werdt was a four-year varsity letter award winner at West Chester University, where he was coached by the notable Dick Delaney. He is a certified Strength and Conditioning coach with a Bachelor’s of Health and Physical Education and a Master’s in Exercise Science.
A comprehensive training experience that will teach the essentials of baseball to boys in grades 4 to 9.
