Summertime at GFS offers children from preschool through high school several action-packed weeks of summer-camp fun, featuring sports, visual and performing arts, technology and languages.

All camp instructors, many of whom are GFS faculty and staff, are skilled professionals who are experts in their respective fields; their primary goal is to help campers grow as athletes, artists, scientists and individuals. Moreover, since Germantown Friends School is rooted in the Quaker values of community and equality, Summertime at GFS is open to students from throughout the Delaware Valley. To accommodate parents’ hectic schedules, we offer transportation, lunches and extended-day options as well.

Summertime at GFS will take place on the school’s main campus and at its 14-acre athletic fields. The main campus features three theatres, four gymnasiums, numerous art and music studios, computer labs, the LEED-certified Wade Science Center, teaching gardens, and wooded areas for outdoor education and play.

Please note: Grades listed refer to your child’s current grade as of spring 2016.

Families should register online through Active Network. Enrollment is limited for many of the camps, so we encourage you to sign up early. When registering, parents may also choose to include extended coverage until 5:30 p.m., nutritious lunches and transportation from Center City.

A non-refundable enrollment deposit of $100 per week, per camper, is due at the time of registration. There is also a non-refundable $25 registration fee for each applicant (whether attending one or multiple camps). The balance will be charged on May 2, 2016. Registrations made after May 1 must be paid in full.

A $25 administrative fee will be charged for any changes made after registration, including transportation changes. Campers will receive one camp T-shirt (additional shirts will be available for purchase). Some trips may involve additional costs. Campers who do not choose the lunch option must provide their own lunch, including a beverage.

Transportation for campers from Center City will be available for an additional fee.  The bus from the Main GFS Campus will leave at 3:30 p.m.

Summertime at GFS will be closed Monday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day. The fee for four-day camps week will be prorated.

All camps, except for the Girls Sports Camp and Girls Sports Camp - LIT Program, are open to non-GFS students.

Prepared lunches are available for purchase through Active Network.

For camp weeks #1 and #2, Tiger Treats lunches will be prepared by professional chef Miranda Kany.

For camp weeks #3 through #5, box lunches will be prepared by GFS Food Services (CulinArt).

Extended Day coverage will be available for a modest additional fee from 3-5:30 p.m. on the Main Campus.
