Private Music Lessons and Orchestra Camp
Private Music Lessons
Would your child like to explore a new musical instrument or continue his/her instrumental studies throughout the summer?
GFS music teacher Peter Delaplane offers half-hour private lessons in guitar, ukulele, piano, bass, and drums during the afternoons from June 19-July 14. Lessons are available to students in all camps that meet on Main Campus.
Upon enrollment, your child will receive placement according to his/her existing camp schedule. Your child can play for a day, a week, or once a week for the entire summer!
String Orchestra Camp
July 17 – July 22, 2017
9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
String Orchestra offers students rising into grades five through twelve a chance to study with some of the Philadelphia region’s most acclaimed string performers. The program will include daily master classes, workshops with special guests, small and large ensemble rehearsals, and a final performance for parents and special guests on July 22.
All of the camp’s programmatic components have been designed not only to improve participants’ musicianship, technique, sight-reading skill, and theoretical knowledge, but also to provide a unique opportunity for in-depth interaction with professional performers, including opportunities to ask questions about performing, practice, and careers in music. All concerts will be presented in Yarnall Auditorium and Loeb Performing Arts Center.
