First Days of School!

The campus was a flurry of activity on September 4 as students in grades 1-12 returned to 31 West Coulter Street for the first (half) day of school. Everywhere you looked, excited students were greeting friends, proud parents were snapping picturesand many hugs and handshakes were exchanged.

Middle and Upper Schoolers were welcomed back by Head of School Dick Wade, who discussed the Quaker principles of community and equality, the two tenets being celebrated this year. Lower Schoolers had their own celebration of community, along with a surprise appearance by the GFS Tiger!

The day ended at noon, but it all starts again on Wednesday morning, September 5, when the students—this time joined by the Kindergartners—return for their first full day of school.
