Ten Seniors Named National Merit Semifinalists

The National Merit Scholarship Corporation has named ten Germantown Friends School seniors National Merit Semifinalists, an honor they share with only 16,000 other twelfth-graders nationwide. They have the opportunity to compete for 8,300 National Merit Scholarships, worth more than $32 million, that will be offered next spring. “In addition to their academic strengths, these students make important contributions to the spirit of the senior class,” says Della Micah, the Director of College Guidance at GFS. “They are wonderful citizens of our school and we’re very proud of them.”

The National Merit Scholarship Program, established in 1955, honors the nation’s scholastic champions and encourages the pursuit of academic excellence.
