Every year Annual Giving provides GFS with the working capital to support the daily functions of the school. Everything from tuition to faculty salaries to maintenance expenses are supported by the Annual Giving program.
Support comes from all constituencies at GFS - alumni, current parents, parents of alumni, faculty and staff, grandparents, and friends. All of these individuals recognize that at GFS, like all independent schools, tuition alone cannot meet the expenses of our operating budget. The Annual Fund touches every aspect of our school and helps maintain the academic excellence for which we are known.
The Annual Giving program supports a challenging financial strategy underway at GFS.
Two key priorities are driving an ambitious goal for Annual Giving:
- To raise tuition at a lower rate than other Philadelphia independent schools.
We aim for this because we want to continue to offer a GFS education to a mix of socio-economic groups.
- To lead area independent schools in faculty compensation.
We do this because we want to attract top faculty who challenge their students to think, to critique, to engage in learning and then to use those lessons in service of others.
These are two amazing feats to accomplish at once! You can help GFS achieve this balancing act by making a contribution to Annual Giving.
