Germantown Friends has a long history of understanding and embracing the importance of opening its doors of curricular and co-curricular opportunities to talented students with financial need. Also, given its location in historic Germantown, GFS is dedicated to its deep commitment to the community of Germantown. Scholarship endowment and scholarship initiatives at GFS are of paramount importance and play a critical part in the school’s ability to engage and enroll the most accomplished and diverse student body possible.
In addition to ongoing fund raising efforts to enhance general scholarship endowment for financial aid, there are also a few specific initiatives at GFS that support the financial need of current families. The Community Scholars Program and the Rubenstone Fund, which are unique to GFS, and the PA Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) program are three examples of vital scholarship programs which help students with demonstrated financial need attend GFS.
