Multicultural Parents Alliance
The Multicultural Parents Alliance (MPA) operates under the umbrella of the general Parents Association and is an association of parents committed to creating, nurturing and integrating cultural, racial and ethnic diversity in the GFS community.
We aim to work with the school on initiatives that support the mission of GFS in the areas of diversity, equity and inclusion. Specifically, the MPA works in partnership with the Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Faculty and Staff of Color, and Diversity Committees, serving as a resource to parents on the following non-exclusive goals:
- Facilitate communication between parents and the school and advocate on behalf of students and parents on issues of diversity, equity and inclusion that affect the GFS community;
- Promote racial, ethnic and cultural diversity among students, the school, and School Committee through dialogue and events;
- Encourage and support integration of racial, ethnic and cultural diversity at GFS
As an informed and engaged parent body that is representative of our diversity, the MPA strives to realize a fully inclusive community in which all students and parents, including those who are new to our community, feel welcome, seen, and heard.
