American Sign Language Teacher (P/T) 2024-2025

Germantown Friends School is looking for a teacher of American Sign Language for six to eight one-hour classes for 10th-12th graders who are at the elementary through advanced levels. The class will commence with the 2024-2025 school year. Fluency in English and ASL is required, preferably with experience teaching in a high school. Preference will be given to candidates who meet one or more of the following:

  • Super Plus rating on ASLPI exam or comparable ASL exam
  • Deaf, ASL-fluent, but CODA considered
  • Master’s degree in Deaf Studies, ASL or ASL interpreting, or closely related field
  • Specialization in ASL pedagogy  and/or Deaf Studies

Interested candidates should send a cover letter, resume, and the names and contact info for three references (all as attachments) to resumes@germantownfriends.org. Please include “ASL Teacher” in the subject line.
