Germantown Friends School (Philadelphia, PA) is seeking Head and Assistant Coaches for JV Softball, and Assistant Coaches for Middle School Softball. Applicants need to be good communicators with a positive coaching philosophy and proven coaching experience, or the drive to learn the craft of coaching. High-level playing experience is preferred (collegiate or beyond). Candidates should be knowledgeable about the latest techniques that apply to softball training, and be current on topics such as injury prevention and concussion management protocols, and strength and conditioning. Applicants must demonstrate the ability to coach in a positive manner and adhere to the values of the school, and the Friends Schools League. All applicants must also demonstrate a willingness to continue professional development in all aspects of diversity, equity and belonging, and to create an inclusive team culture.
These are part-time positions. JV Softball runs from February-May, each weekday afternoon and some Saturdays. Practice is 3:45-5:45 p.m., plus games. MS Softball runs from March-May each weekday afternoon from 2:00-3:30 p.m., plus games. Daily availability at these times is essential.
