Dear GFS Community,
As an Art Department, we know how important making with our hands and processing the world around us has been this year. This portrait show was conceived of as a communal reflection on ourselves, each other, and the past year. We have looked at ourselves on Zoom and in our own spaces more than at any other time in our lives. What do we see? Through the work in this show, we take this time to consider the portrait as a way of looking at our inherent strengths and our inherent triumphs.
We are thankful to have traveled through this year with our students, and to see their creative spirits thrive. Enjoy the portraits and self-portraits created by students in Preschool through 12th grade art classes, and submissions from the larger community.
In friendship,
The GFS Art Department
