Miles Heck '23 Speaks at City of Philadelphia Earth Day Event

For Earth Day, junior Miles Heck shared important messages about food waste reduction. He spoke at the City of Philadelphia Office of Sustainability Earth Day event at the Cherry Street Pier on April 22.

To celebrate the day and the Office’s new Greenworks Review, the City invited students to share their voices about how we can take action to eliminate food waste in Philadelphia. Miles completed his Junior Project at the Office of Sustainability with Helena Rudoff, Waste Reduction Programs Lead, and continues to support their mission.

"It is critical that students like me are aware of the impacts of food waste. Eventually, we will be the voters, constituents, and leaders in our communites. We can leverage large amounts of power to affect change," he says.
