Lower School Greek Day Celebrations Include Food and Fellowship

Greek Day is an honored tradition at GFS. After learning and studying ancient civilizations in the classroom, fourth grade students spend time training in physical education to compete in Greek Day. The celebration encompasses an opening ceremony based on Greek culture, track and field events—including shot put, discus, javelin, long jump, hurdles, running events, and a full-grade relay. Students also have a medal ceremony and "feast" on Greek food together as a way of fellowship.
