Transgender Awareness Week

Transgender Awareness Week is held every November to honor and raise the visibility of those within the transgender community.  The Friends Free Library, in partnership with the GFS Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion has compiled a reading list and collection of resources featuring topics, authors, and storylines intended to educate, honor, celebrate, and enlighten. Please click here for the complete resource that lives on the Friends Free Library catalog page.

The week culminates with Transgender Day of Remembrance on Saturday, November 20th, and honors the memory of those in the transgender community who have lost their lives due to acts of anti-transgender violence. Please join us as we hold these individuals in the Light and continue our work in building a community based on love and affirmation.
