Congratulations to three students who received awards from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association for their work on the Middle School newspaper, The Corner. Gold Circles are awarded to students for excellence on individual pieces of journalism, including writing, podcasts, and photography/art. From more than 5,300 submissions from digital media and yearbook publications, a total of 747 awards were given in first, second, third, or certificate of merit. Note that the middle schoolers compete against high school students in this competition.
Peter Ilyin '24 was award a certificate of merit in the category of "computer-generated art/illustration" for his original digital art accompanying the story "Russia: How does it impact us?"
Jasper Mosley '24 and Joshua Matthews '24 were awarded a certificate of merit in the category of "podcasting" for their piece titled "Do People Like Pop Music?"
