Beginning in January, the Parents Association will host an eight-week course entitled Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), which will be facilitated by mindfulness expert, Dr. Bidi McSorley.
Participation is open to all GFS parents, faculty, staff and their family members, with a minimum of 15 people and a maximum of 30. Registration has been brisk, but there are still spaces available!
Mindfulness meditation can be a powerful way to reduce stress, decrease pain, increase attention and focus and enhance vitality and wellness. Participants will learn a variety of mindfulness meditation techniques as well as informal ways to bring mindfulness into their daily lives.
Weekly classes will be held from 6:30-9 p.m. on Tuesday nights, beginning on January 17, 2017, and concluding on March 7, 2017.
In addition, a full-day retreat will be held from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 25, 2017.
All classes will be held at GFS.
Financial assistance is available. Please contact Associate Head of School Rita Goldman to discuss this option.
