You hear about our students attending Meeting for Worship and you may wonder, what's that all about? On Sunday, 9/9, the Germantown Friends Meeting invites you to cross the Common to join in snacks, a short briefing, Meeting for Worship, and brunch.
When: Sunday, September 9, 10 a.m.
As a GFS parent, you hear a lot about the Quaker testimonies (the SPICES) underlying Friends education. If you're curious about "how Quakerism works," a good place to start is at Meeting for Worship, open to all.
Sunday, September 9, is Germantown Meeting's very special Day of Welcome for all GFS families. Over coffee at 10 a.m., Germantown Meeting member and GFS teacher Dorothy Cary will speak briefly about Quakerism. Then, children have the option of staying in Meeting or joining classmates for different-age activities. A light brunch afterward offers a chance to meet Meeting members and other parents. All are invited, whether you're newcomers to GFS or your children have attended for years. There will be plenty of parking, and childcare for pre-schoolers.
See you Sunday!
