This month marked our first Community Engagement Food Drive of the school year.
This month marked our first Community Engagement Food Drive of the school year, where we collected over 100 bags of food! Thank you to all who donated, as well as Upper School leaders from student clubs "Feeding the Hungry" and "Community Action Club," and members of the Parents Association. The drive is part of an ongoing collaboration with community organizations, including St. Luke’s Food Pantry, Holsey Temple, and the Whosoever Gospel Mission, in their efforts to feed the hungry in Germantown.
“COVID-19 has impacted our world in many ways. In recent conversations with our community partners, especially those with the mission of feeding the hungry, the impact of the pandemic has been severe,” says Dr. Zarah Adams, GFS Director of Community Engagement.
Once per month, families can drop off food donations at the Meetinghouse porch or at Center City drop-off, during morning arrival and afternoon dismissal. Mark your calendars for our next drive on Tuesday, November 10.
