Upper School students are invited to submit a proposal for a Unity Day workshop by Monday, 3/11.
Unity Day is a new GFS Diversity Conference where Upper School students and faculty and staff will work towards unity of heart through diversity of mind. Various 1-hour workshops will be offered by students and faculty and staff on topics relating to social justice and diversity, equity, and inclusion. Unity Day 2019 will be held on Friday, April 19.
All Upper School students are invited to submit a proposal for a workshop. They may collaborate with other students or faculty or staff.
The Upper School Diversity Committee will review proposals and help support the development of ideas. For more information, please read these workshop proposal instructions. Some of the topics that have been proposed so far include:
- LGBTQ Affinity Group - Being LGBTQ with Trump in office
- Exploring gender norms by breaking down what it means to be a man in the 21st century
- Using food to look into society
- Stereotype threat: What is it and how do we combat it?
