In late June, the GFS Varsity Girls Basketball team traveled to University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the University of South Carolina. Along the way, they met with an alumna, heard from a basketball legend, and learned more about some of the top college women's basketball programs in the country.

It’s not just the students whose lives are affected and changed by GFS travel exchange programs. Learn about one family whose entire life story was impacted by the ninth grader from Tlaxcala, Mexico, who they hosted in 1997.

For 50 years, GFS Middle and Upper School students have had life-changing experiences on international exchanges. There are now more opportunities than ever before.

The GFS education extends far beyond the campus on Coulter Street, as students learn about and engage in issues within the broader community—and even the world. Building on this mission, in the 2025–2026 academic year, GFS launched two new global travel experiences for Upper School students.

This summer, members of the varsity cross country team trained in Park City, Utah. Led by coaches Rob Hewitt and Kate Henderson, they tackled the challenging terrain and altitude, and bonded along the way.

Every three years, the GFS Choir embarks on an international journey, a tradition that dates back to 1956. Over the 2025 spring break, the GFS Choir and faculty chaperones embarked on an incredible 10-day performance tour of Estonia.
