Talking to Young Children About Race & Racism with GFS Early Childhood Teachers
Thursday, June 25 at 12–1 p.m.
This is a complicated yet very important moment in our history. We all, our children included, have many questions and emotions and are struggling to make sense of recent and ongoing racism, protests, and community action. While these ideas and events are big and complex, they can be addressed in age-appropriate ways as a family and within a school community to help our youngest children understand and learn.
Our Early Childhood division provides a curricular and cultural framework for students and families to respond and support each other when faced with challenges and teachable moments. With an anti-bias curriculum and passionate teachers who lead in this work, GFS is pleased to share ways we can all encourage peace and love, now and into the future.
Please join the GFS Early Childhood Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee and other Early Childhood experts, including teachers Lindsay Roberts, Jenny Taylor, Michael Roach, Rachel Greene, and Bianca Desamour; Librarian Kathyrn Murphy; and Director of Early Childhood Sarah McMenamin.
