LOOKING BACK AT ALUMNI WEEKEND 2026

What a weekend! To everyone who walked through our halls, caught up with old friends, and shared their GFS pride this past weekend—thank you. You made Alumni Weekend 2026 an unforgettable celebration of community.

We kicked off the weekend on Thursday with a wonderful reception for alumni of color and retired faculty and staff of color. The energy carried through Friday as we packed Taulane Auditorium for the Abigail R. Cohen '91 Art Lecture with guest speakers Carmen Winant ’01 and Paul Farber ’01. That evening, we gathered back in the All School Commons for a welcome reception, featuring art exhibitions with works by retired GFS art teachers, photography by the late Abby Cohen '91, and a preview of the student art show.

On Saturday, we cheered on seven baseball and softball legends at Gratwick Field and honored our West Award recipients, Bob Wilcox '66 and Linda E. Johnson '76, followed by Meeting for Worship. After lunch and featured programming, our milestone reunion classes gathered for evening reunions all throughout the city to share more stories, hugs, and laughter. We capped it off on Sunday, joining Meeting for Worship, and enjoying the all-school choral concert.
