Join GFS Upper School Theatre for a live, in-person theatrical event! Bread & Circuses, an outdoor ‘street-theatre’ festival, celebrates some of the many traditions of speaking truth to power (physically-distanced and masked, of course). The event draws its name from the writings of Roman satirist Juvenal, who commented on the populace’s willingness to be placated by simple pleasures (like food and entertainment) and government strategies to appease their population and divert attention. This event ties together clowns, puppets, and French Neoclassicists around this idea and the power of the fool to speak truth.
Outdoor seating is very limited. Please click the button above to reserve your tickets.
