Germantown Friends Athletics is pleased to announce the promotion of Morgan Wambold, MS, LAT, ATC, PES, CNC, to Head Athletic Trainer.
Wambold is no stranger to the GFS community, having served as a full-time Athletic Trainer since 2019. Wambold has demonstrated a deep commitment to the health, safety, and performance of all of our student-athletes. She has proven her expertise and dedication to nurturing a culture of wellness within our program.
As our new Head Athletic Trainer, Wambold will lead the charge in elevating our athletic programs to new heights. She will maintain her day-to-day responsibilities, such as designing and implementing injury prevention programs, coordinating rehabilitation efforts, and collaborating with coaching staffs, parents, and doctors. Wambold has an inspired vision for how to utilize the updated spaces, facilities, and increased sports medicine staff. “I appreciate Morgan’s ongoing leadership in our athletic program,” noted Athletic Director Katie Bergstrom Mark. “She has been a leader in providing professional development to our coaching staff, her research is extensive and inspiring, she has strengthened our AT intern program with local universities, and piloted our first-of-its-kind physical therapist residency connection with CHOP.”

Wambold has a proven drive for professional improvement. Over the past two years, Wambold has obtained certificates from the National Academy of Sports Medicine as a Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES), as well as in the field of Sports Nutrition by becoming a Certified Nutrition Coach (CNC).
