Crew

First a club program, Crew became a varsity interscholastic program beginning in the fall of 2019.

The team practices and competes in the fall and spring with the primary competitive season being in the spring. Winter training is also available. 

In the 2026 spring season, the Tigers had a record setting season winning 4 gold medals, 3 silver medals and 1 bronze medal at PSRA City Championships. At The Stotesbury Cup the Tigers secured 1 gold medal (second ever for GFS), 2 silvers, and a bronze. At Mid-Atlantic Regionals they had 6 boats reach the podium, 3 of which resulted in qualifying for Youth Nationals. At SRAA Nationals GFS had all boats qualify for the finals with 4 boats medaling; the most in GFS history. 

The GFS Rowing Program has seen a high level of success with athletes going on to row at Boston College, Brown, Harvard, Penn, Princeton, Stanford, Wesleyan, and Wisconsin. GFS crew alumnus James Wright ’18 (Stanford '22) represented the United States at the 2022 U23 World Championships and made the US National Senior team in 2026.
