Summer Camps

EPIC Day Camp, Sports Camps, and Specialty Camps are for children throughout the Delaware Valley with a few exceptions:

• Campers must be 3 years old by the time they start camp (and fully potty trained) in order to register for EPIC Day Camp.

• Campers registering for Summer Strings Orchestra Camp must have 2-3 years of prior instruction in a string instrument. Upon registering, we will also connect you to the camp director for a short audition.

Camps Are for Rising Grades
All camps are listed by the grade your child will be entering in Fall 2026.

Registration Deadlines

• Registration for EPIC Day Camp will close at 11:59 p.m. on Monday, June 1, 2026.

• Registration for all Sports Camps and Specialty Camps will close Sunday at 11:59 p.m. one week before the start of each camp.

• Gear Up for Fall and Community Basketball & Enrichment do not have a registration deadline. However, please arrive 15 minutes early on the first day of camp to allow time for on-site registration.
   

Cost
GFS Summer Camps are between $400-$650 per camp/session. We offer multi-session discounts and current or incoming GFS students are eligible for Non-Tuition Financial Aid. Camps that fall during Juneteenth week have been prorated. 

Non-Tuition Financial Aid
GFS offers Non-Tuition Financial Aid to current or incoming GFS students attending camp. If you would like more information on how to apply, please email Stephanie Sickinger, Financial Aid Director.

Needs-based scholarships are also available for any camper registering for Community Basketball & Enrichment Camp. If you would like more information on how to apply, please email camps@germantownfriends.org.
 

Deposit, Payment Plans, and Cancellations
A deposit of 25% of the cost of each camp is due at the time of registration. (Please note: The deposit option is only available until Sunday, March 15, 2026). Cancellations can be made within 48 hours of registration for a full refund. Cancelling sessions after 48 hours will result in a $100 cancellation fee.

To switch from one session to another, please email camps@germantownfriends.org.
On or after Monday, May 4, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. no refunds will be given. All changes, including switching sessions, must be made before this date. 

Balances can be paid in 1 or 2 installments. All balances are due May 4th for camps in June and June 1st for camps in July.

No camper with a balance due will be permitted to attend camp.
 

Discounts
Enroll in 3 weeks of camp and receive 10% off now through March 15, 2026!

All discounts are by camper/participant registration, not by family.

Campers who register for all 4 weeks of Community Basketball & Enrichment Camp will receive a $15 discount, which will be applied automatically at check-out.

Please note: Multi-Session Discounts cannot be used on top of the GFS Faculty & Staff discount.

Locations
Summer Camp at Germantown Friends School takes place in three primary locations:

• Main Campus (31 W. Coulter Street), which includes three theaters, two gymnasiums, numerous art and music studios, computer labs, a LEED-certified Science Center, and both gardens and wooded areas for outdoor education and exploration.

• GFS Athletic Fields (2807 Midvale Avenue and 2940 West School House Lane), which include three fields and two baseball diamonds.
• Germantown cricket Club (411 Manheim Street) is where certain camps go swimming.

Transportation
GFS will offer a daily shuttle service from the Curtis Center, 601 Walnut Street, to GFS’ Main Campus in Germantown only through July 17. The shuttle is offered for an additional fee of $125/week per camper. Limited space is available and Early Childhood campers enrolled at our Center City location and their siblings will be prioritized.

Eating
Campers participating in camps on Main Campus (rising first grade and up!) will eat in the dining hall and be able to order food each day as part of their camp experience. Please see the specific camp’s information to see whether lunch is included.

Adventure Camps and Sports Camps are offsite and therefore campers will need to pack their own non-perishable lunch and snacks each day. 

Holidays
GFS will be closed on Friday, June 19 in observance of Juneteenth. There will be no camps offered on this date.
