Planned Giving

With a bequest, you retain control of your assets during your lifetime. Simple language can be included to establish a bequest when you prepare a new will or add a codicil to an existing one. A bequest can be for a percentage of your estate or for a specific amount.

Sample language: ​​I give to Germantown Friends School, located in Philadelphia Pennsylvania, the sum of $____ or _____% of the residual of my estate for the following purpose: ______________ (unrestricted, endowment, specific fund etc.).

The Charitable IRA Rollover allows individuals age 70½ and older to make direct transfers of up to $100,000 per year from your IRA, 401(K), or other qualified plan without having to count the transfers as income for federal tax purposes.

Give a policy you no longer need by making Germantown Friends School the owner, beneficiary, or both of an insurance plan.

You can name Germantown Friends School as the beneficiary of your donor-advised fund as part of your legacy planning, passing any remaining funds to benefit the School.

By establishing a charitable trust, you maintain a fixed income stream each year as a beneficiary, with the remainder of the donated assets eventually gifted to support the students and programs at Germantown Friends School.

A charitable gift annuity provides a fixed lifetime income payment to you or to 1-2 life income beneficiaries that you designate. The remaining balance passes to GFS when the contract ends at the death of the last beneficiary. You can establish a CGA through a gift of stock, cash, or a combination of both.
