explore our CAMPUS

What's cool about our campus is that it's spread out over seven acres in Philadelphia's historic neighborhood of Germantown. The buildings are an eclectic mix of old and new, a unique look and feel more consistent with a college campus. With three gyms, three auditoriums, a student center, numerous open, green spaces and nine classroom buildings, it's a place worthy of adoration and exploration. The Meetinghouse, at the center of it all, provides a beautiful and spiritual focal point.

The Pillars of A

Quaker Education

At GFS, students and teachers gather in Meeting for Worship once each week. This is a time for shared, silent contemplation. Anyone who feels moved to speak may rise and do so. It is a simple formula, and can be a remarkably powerful experience. In these days of constant connectivity, the ability and opportunity to sit in silence have special value. Meeting for Worship is a cornerstone of the GFS culture that many come to cherish throughout their lives.

PA Tax Credit Programs

Make your tax dollars work for Germantown Friends School

Businesses, corporations, and individuals can support Germantown Friends School through tax credit programs.

For more information on each program, please see below. If you are interested in participating in a tax credit program, please consult your tax advisor and call the GFS Advancement Office at 215-951-2340 for more information.

Pennsylvania Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program (EITC)

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania offers a unique opportunity for businesses in the state to reduce tax liability by contributing to registered scholarship organizations. Gifts to scholarships at Germantown Friends School can generate a tax credit equal to 75% of the contribution. Two-year commitments receive a 90% tax reduction.

Pennsylvania Opportunity Scholarship Tax Credit Program (OSTC)

Like EITC, the OSTC program provides tax credits to eligible businesses contributing to an Opportunity Scholarship Organization. Business contributions are then used to provide tuition assistance in the form of scholarships at Germantown Friends School to eligible students residing within the boundaries of a low-achieving school.

The Friends Collaborative

Thanks to a Special Purpose Entity created in 2016 called the Friends Education Equity Collaborative, qualified individual investors now have the opportunity to take advantage of tax credits for supporting qualified scholarship organization like Germantown Friends School. Learn more about FEEC.
