Your gift makes an immediate and powerful impact.

For generations, philanthropic support has been integral to Germantown Friends School, ensuring that GFS remains at the forefront of educational excellence and thrives well into the future. Donor funding enables a vibrant and thoughtful student experience, an ever-evolving academic and co-curricular program, financial aid, professional development for faculty, and campus improvements. Why I Give to GFS

Ben Thomas '14

GFS Alumnus

"I think it's important to give back; other people's giving is what allowed me to attend GFS as a Community Scholar.

I want to inspire other people, especially peers close to my age to give to GFS as well, and I want to enrich the experience of the students there now."

Jitu and Saryu Desai

GFS Grandparents

"Having witnessed the graduations of our three grandchildren—Kiran '18, Anu '20, and Laxmi '22—we feel that GFS stands for ethnicity, race, culture, and values. It is exhibited aptly by the unique blend of staff and students. It emphasizes acceptance and modern ideas of religion and beliefs, while not preferring one over the other. We are also impressed with the Quaker tradition of silent Meeting, which mirrors our Indian tradition of silent meditation and yoga."

De-Sean Fennell

GFS Fourth-Grade Teacher

"I give to the GFS Annual Fund because every little bit helps.

Daniel Rouse, my fellow Lower School teacher (now retired), truly inspired me. The support of Daniel and my colleagues motivate me to be present with my students each and every day, every year."

Kate Butler P'15

Parent of GFS Alumni

“I continue to support GFS because I am in awe of what it teaches my children. At GFS, my boys learned how to learn, how to lead by consensus, and most of all, how to be human: to not only see but honor the Light in all beings. Captains of both the squash and soccer teams, Satya '15 and Anand '15 went on to play squash at Bowdoin and Williams [colleges]."

The Annual Fund

The Annual Fund is GFS' annual giving program and the school’s highest fundraising priority. The Annual Fund plays a crucial role in enriching the lives of our students by providing unrestricted support for our academic programs, professional development for faculty and staff, and supports the arts, athletics, DEI programs, classroom resources, technology, scholarships, financial aid, and more.
