Since 1971, GFS' Community Basketball & Enrichment summer camp has provided top-tier basketball skill-building and academic instruction for rising third through ninth graders from Germantown and the surrounding communities. Robert (Bob) W. Giess ’57 co-founded GFS' first jazz band, The Six Saints, while a student here. As an alumnus, he and his bandmates established the Six Saints Fund to provide ongoing support for faculty and students in the school's music program.

Alumni Weekend 2025 was one for the ages! We welcomed more than 300 alums representing over six decades of GFS history. From reconnecting with old friends to making new memories, the weekend was filled with joy, reflection, and celebration.
The 2025 West Alumni Award was presented to Jo Walker ’55 on Saturday, May 17 in a ceremony at the Meetinghouse during Alumni Weekend.
Germantown Friends School has surpassed its $40 million target for Picture This—the school’s largest ever campaign. With 15 months remaining until the campaign’s close on June 30, 2026, the focus is now on reaching outstanding campaign goals: closing the funding gap on the All School Commons, growing the financial aid endowment, and raising an additional $1 million for community education.
